Hi there!
Sorry, I haven't been around. Been so busy with my life and family and yes, am still on my journey. *smiles* I've been cooking a lot of different kind of food for my family especially for me. I borrowed a couple books from the library and even bought a book at Walmart. From the library, I borrowed The Biggest Loser Cookbook and Fast Food Fix. Both are by Devin Alexander. Great recipes. I wasn't able to find the The Biggest Loser Family Cookbook. The reason I was looking for that is cuz there is a recipe called BBQ Bacon Meatloaf. I downloaded it from Devin's site: http://www.devinalexander.com/. It was so good! The book that I bought from Walmart is called 'Hungry Girl: 200 under 200.' It's a book of 200 recipes under 200 calories. Oh my goodness. So many yummy recipes in there. You can use this book and pretty much eat 5 to 6 times a day just using her recipes and not worry bout going over the limit of your calorie intake.
I have been eating at most 1600 calories a day. The minimum for me is 1400 and maximum is 1800. No more or less than what I choose cuz I don't want to go overboard. It's already hard for me cuz I don't eat enough calories. Hard to believe, huh? The majority of the people have the wrong idea about me of why I am big. They think it's cuz I eat all the time. NOT SO! Trust me, I don't eat all the time. Well, actually now I do. LOL. But I meant before I started to watch what I'm doing. I remember my thyroid doctor telling me especially after I gained all my weight back from my 2 radiations that I had to do to correct the number of my thyroid problems. Before my radiations, I was hyperactive and after doing 2 radiation, I went down to hypoactive. I asked my doctor why I was gaining my weight back. She said oh you're supposed to watch what you eat with some kind of snooty attitude. She had it in her head that I'm heavy cuz I'm an eater but we set her straight and she was real surprised bout it. There are some big gals who do eat all the time and that's their choice. But I don't eat like that. I did eat all the wrong stuff which was fried food. My fave food are pretty much chicken nuggets or chicken tenders depending where we are and fries. Yes! I used to go out all the time. That was my problem. Since starting this, I stopped going out to eat with my family and starting cooking at home. I've also limited my diet pop. Yes, granted there is no calories but there is that sugar in there so it's best to cut them out. To be honest, I haven't cut them out just yet. 2 cans or 1 bottle (24 oz) is my limit a day now. I used to drink them instead of drinking water. Now I'm drinking either Crystal Light or Fruit2O and plain water. Cuz I'm not crazy bout just plain water, I tend to drink more of the flavored ones but without the carb.
As for my exercises, I've started walking. I go to South Park and walk around the track. I now am walking around 4 times which means I'm walking 2 miles. I also go to Curves 2 to 3 times a week. I'm aiming for 3 but with the pain I've been experiencing makes it hard to go sometimes. I've gotten Leslie Sansone's Walk Away the Pound video. I'm working on trying to get in 45 mins a day with all the exercises and the walk that I do so I can lose that 100 pounds by Christmas. But as I said, it's better to limit the weight loss to 10 percent of your weight so I'm, at moment, working on the 35 lb weight loss and so far I've lost almost 11 lbs which means I only have another 24 more lbs to go before setting a new goal for weight loss.
Someone once asked if I was taking anything to help me lose weight. Before getting Bob's 'Are You Ready' book, I did try to use some weight loss shake. The reason I was only drinking that was cuz I was trying to get my calories up to 1600. Right now, I'm not even drinking those shakes cuz I'm able to eat that much calories and not have to worry bout not eating enough. I only did the shakes for a week. Did I lose anything? Nope, I didn't. Maybe if it was Slim Fast, I'm sure I would've lost weight then but I didn't want to cuz I was worried that once I get off of it, I would've gained my weight back so I didn't go with that. Sometime last year, I tried the Alli plan. I was thinking I might get back on it only to help me with my bowel movements. LOL. But then I thought if most of my food doesn't have too much fat in it, it prolly wouldn't help me at all and am thinking of getting that Smooth Move Tea and see if it'll help. I'll have to think bout it and I just have to make sure I count the calories if I drink some. LOL.
Well, I think that's it for now. Take care! Big hugz.

Bob Harper's 'Are You Ready!' Book
Hello there!
Yesterday, I've finally got Bob's book! I've been reading it and can't seem to put it down. I'm looking forward to following his book cuz I AM SO READY! I've already lost at least 5 lbs since joining his fan page on facebook. I've been following his Daily Challenges. I've met some great people on one of his group on facebook and we're helping each other changing our lives and taking back our lives. I plan to change my eating habit again and will start following his advices and do his exercises including his daily challenge. *smiles*
So right now I'm at 350 lbs and am doing the 10 percent of my weight as my goal weight for now which is to lose 35 lbs. Once I lose all of 35 lbs, I will set the next goal weight and continue from there. I think this way, there won't be too much disappointment if I don't lose weight as I do need to lose bout 200 lbs and that's a long way to go. I'm so looking forward to changing my life and have a feeling that this is THE one that will help me to finally take my life back.
I plan to get Jillian Michael's 'Master Your Metabolism' after I'm done with Bob's book. Those 2 trainers from the Biggest Loser are the best! I'll be honest, if I could be on that show, I would rather be trained by Bob cuz I don't think I could handle Jillian. lol. She's a toughy plus I don't like to be yelled at at all times. *smiles*
Well, I gotta get back to my book now. Take care and have a great weekend! Hugz

My Weight Loss Journey
Hello!
A few days ago, I posted a tweet asking people to send me tips on how to lose weight or send me to a site where I can try to lose weight. A couple people did which was great but will I follow them? At this time, the answer is no. Why? Cuz to me, I won't be able to accomplish what I want. I mean, yes, I know I can lose weight following those diets but will it be good in the long run? No. Why? Cuz I've already tried it and once you stop doing those diet, chances are you can gain the weight back. I want to be able to keep it off.
So I was looking around, doing my own research. I've found a couple of free training or weight loss sites that I'm gonna try and follow and see what happens. I've joined MyTrainerBob.com, freetrainers.com, fitday.com, startyourdiet.com and foh.trainingdiary.ws. I figured this way, I'll be able to choose what kind of exercise I can do and what I can eat. In the startyourdiet.com, if I follow exactly what they suggest, I could lose bout 100 by Christmas. Can I follow it? Heck yea! All I need to do is make sure I eat 1600 calories a day, drink 8 glasses of water and exercise for 45 mins a day. I can do that! Will it work for me? I don't know! All I can do is try and see what happens. *smiles*
Now all I gotta do is make a chart of what exercises on what day I wanna do as I plan to go to curves 3 times a week so that's already half hour at a time and can walk on those days for 15 mins and boom, I got my 45 mins for those days. *smiles* Also figure out what to eat and make sure I eat enough calories. So I'll be sure to be making plans for days ahead of time to be sure I am eating enough.
As for the mytrainerbob.com, Bob Harper gives out tips or challenges we can do for the day. Yesterday, his tip was to run. Well, being over 300 lbs, I can't run too good especially with my knee problem but it did say, if you can't run, jog at your own pace which is exactly what I did. I followed his tip for beginners which was to walk for 2 mins and then jog for 1 min then back to walking for 2 mins and then jog for a min. Add that up to half hour. I was so proud of myself for doing the whole half hour! Of course, I was huffy & puffy but one of these days, it won't be so bad. I'm so excited! I've even ordered Bob Harper's "Are You Ready" book. Can't wait to get that in a few days.
As for the rest of the sites, it's mainly exercises that I can do to help lose weight. I read somewhere that if I do different exercises every day and not do the same thing over and over again, there's a better chance we could lose weight a little bit faster. So we'll see if that's true. *smiles*
Why am I doing this? Cuz I've been heavy all my life. I haven't been under 300 lbs since high school. Well, actually I did make it under 300 lbs after having my son but that was cuz I had an infection after having an emergency c-section. The great thing was I was able to keep that weight off for a long time until I had to go for thyroid radiation which got me gaining 50 lbs and cuz the numbers still wasn't right, I had to go again for the thryoid radiation and ended up gaining all my weight back and then some. It's been hard losing weight since then. It's just been a yo-yo. Usually in a 20 lb range. So frustrating! This past week, I was watching videos of my son when he was smaller and I was smaller. I was watching myself and how much of a difference we look. Despite the fact that I was always sick after having my son, I was still beaming. Smiling all the time. I want to get back to that time and I know I can.
So I will be using this blog to help me with my weight loss journey. Y'all can follow me on this journey and help support me. I can use all the encouragements I can get. If you need to lose weight yourself, then join me. *smiles* Let me know what you're doing and how you're losing the weight. So come on! Let's do this! I know we can do this!

My New Blog
Hi there! I decided to make a new blog just for fun. *smiles* Here's a bit about myself:
My name's Lindy but everybody on the net calls me Angel so I answer to either name. I'm a 36 yr old deaf mom to one son (soon to be 5) and also to one furbaby (also soon to be 5). Their names are Benjamin (son) and Neb (dog, shih tzu). I'm a big gal at the moment. Reason I say at the moment is cuz I'm working on losing weight. I have been heavy my whole life and have tried so hard losing weight. After having my son, cuz of an infection I had from the c-section, I was able to lose weight and actually was able to keep it off until I started taking thyroid meds which made me gain all my weight back and then some. I'm tired of being heavy. I work out as much as I can. With my health not so great anymore, I have no strength to do much. Even tho I was always big, I used to be pretty active for a big gal. Used to dance all the time and even danced every song! Now I can't even dance one freaking song! I wanna get back to being able to be active even if I don't lose any weight. I wanna be more active again.
Here's what I've started to do to lose weight: I've started walking, 10 to 20 mins a day. I'm gonna start going back to curves and start doing that 3 times a week, even if it's just for 15 mins. I can start working on getting my strength back. Now I'm sure a lot of you think I'm big cuz of the way I eat. I hate to tell you guys that you're wrong. I don't eat much. I try to make sure I eat 3 meals a day but most days it's 2 meals so this means I'm not eating enough. I know I'm not cuz I used to be on WeightWatchers. It was so hard doing that cuz I could never get enough points! This is one of reason I decided against the gastric bypass that I thought bout doing last 2 yrs. The more I thought bout having it done, I was like how would I lose weight if I was already not eating enough. So I ended up against it cuz I didn't want to have to mess up my body from the surgery. So I just need to figure out what more I can do to help lose weight. So I've started drinking 2 shakes/smoothies to help take the place of those meals when I don't eat. This way, I have 2 shakes and 2 meals. Hopefully it will work out for me. I started last week on Wednesday and so far, I've lost 5 lbs! So I might as well continue, huh? *smiles* Of course, I will keep y'all updated every once in awhile with my weight progress.
More about me: Tho I can't hear, I do enjoy listening to music. Love mostly country as I am able to follow the lyrics but do listen to all type of music. Love Taylor Swift, Noel Mcleary, Evanescence, A Fine Frenzy, Shaolin Temple of BooM and more! I love to go dancing and wanna get back to being able to dance every songs! *smiles* Oh yea, by the way, I'm talking polka dancing. Yep, yep. Polka dancing! It's a part of my slovenian heritage and I've grew up with the slovenian music as that's what we do. My dad plays music as do my brother, grandpap, uncle and many more in his family. We have several bands: Joe Grkman Band (includes my dad, brother, pap & uncle along with few family friends), Grkman Duo (dad & brother), Alpen Glow (german band that includes my dad and brother along w several friends), Bavarian Brats (new german band that includes my dad, brother and a new friend). Whenever my son and I go with one of these bands, my son will play with them also! People love when my son plays with the bands. Of course, at the moment, he doesn't really play but I've decided since he's now of age, I plan to get him lessons in guitar and singing. If he wants to learn how to play the button box, he can just learn from the best. *smiles* My dad, of course. *giggles*
Even more about me: I love making new friends, watching movies, going out (miss doing that big time and wanna start doing that again! anybody wanna hang out with a big deaf old me? let me know!) and much more. I have a home-based handcrafted jewelry business which I make jewelries out of beads, gemstones, crystals and more. I enjoy writing poems & lyrics (have even written one that my dad used for one of his cd called 'A Bit of Hope'). Just in case, some of you men are wondering, yes, I am single. I am looking for Mr. Right. Someone who knows how to treat a woman the way a woman should be treated. Someone who will understand that my son comes first and foremost and then family comes after that. Meaning, no complaining that I don't have the time for you when you really could've came with us and hang out with us instead of staying home being bummed and then trying to find someone new. Yes, I've gone through that crap and no, I refuse to go through that shit again. So if you're a good guy, you would go with me and actually enjoy being with me no matter where we are. I'm NOT looking for sex nor will meet you for sex. If that's all you want, then hit the road, Jack. I want to know what it's really like to be in a real relationship, you know? Going out to dinner, getting flowers, having fun, etc.. If you're the kind of guy I'm looking for, then write me sometimes. *smiles* Otherwise, sorry!
Ok, ok, ok. I think I've done enough damage for now. LOL. You're welcome to make any comments but just so ya know, they will need to be approved. So if I don't like what you wrote cuz you decide to be rude, I will not approve the message. I've had enough crap in my life and don't need any more crap from anybody who thinks that I'm actually better than them. I'm not! I'm going through all kinds of problems just like a lot of you. OK? So please refrain yourself from harassing me again (sorry everybody, this is mainly for the person who feels she has to continue bothering me so yes, it's not for all of you..). Alrighty, well, that's it from me for now. Take care and have a great day! Big hugz!
